Beacons video is out now

The White Raven embraces DIY spirit in intimate new Beacons video

A hand-built camera and raw emotion power the brand new Beacons video

The White Raven shares the video for their latest single Beacons – shot with a custom-built camera by DOP Robin Jansson: produktionsbolaget.se. The unique rig, assembled from a Raspberry Pi 5, a HQ camera module, and a 3D-printed shell, runs a tweaked version of Cinemate (built on CinePi). Jansson, inspired by the blend of tech, design, and cinematography, built the system by hand to fit the spirit of the project.

“We leaned into the DIY ethos—not just because of the camera, but because it reflects the song,” the band shares. “Beacons is about heartbreak and stillness, and we wanted the video to feel just as honest.”

The video opens with a long dolly shot: bassist Gabriel Melin Svensson pushes the rig while Jansson pulls focus. Frontman Sebastian Wijk enters, sits, and begins to play. Visible gear, soft lighting, and an exposed backdrop set the tone—real, unfiltered, and emotionally grounded.

As the song intensifies, so does the video. Colors shift—red, blue/green, orange—and silhouettes appear. Cuts remain minimal early on but build in pace toward the end, echoing the track’s rising emotional weight.

Shot on a hand-assembled camera and rooted in pure visual storytelling, the Beacons video is a quiet, powerful companion to one of the band’s most vulnerable releases.
