The White Raven

The White Raven is a Swedish five-piece indie/rock band known for their emotionally charged sound and raw energy. The band consists of singer Sebastian Wijk, guitarists Marcus Eriander and Henrik Blomqvist, bassist Gabriel Melin Svensson, and drummer Johan Meijer. With their distinct style and chemistry, the group has carved out a unique space in the Swedish and international music scene.

Although The White Raven was officially formed in 2012, several of its members had been collaborating long before that. The core members, including Sebastian Wijk, Marcus Eriander, and Gabriel Melin Svensson, had been involved in various musical projects together. Their shared passion for indie rock and their long-standing connection helped solidify their vision when they finally came together as a cohesive band.

In 2013, The White Raven was signed to the Bolero Recordings label, a Swedish independent label and publisher, and Warner Chapell Scandinavia, the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group.

The band’s breakthrough came in 2014 with their debut single Headlights, which received critical acclaim and airplay on both Swedish and international radio. This success set the stage for their debut album Through Your Hands, released in 2016.

The album, recorded by the band themselves in a basement studio in Helsingborg, is a testament to their DIY ethos and artistic vision. With ten tracks that blend big, emotional soundscapes, Through Your Hands, instantly captured the attention of listeners and critics alike.

Following a period of growth and reflection, The White Raven returned with new energy in late 2024, releasing the powerful single Dearly Departed. In July 2025, they followed up with Beacons — a raw, lo-fi meditation on heartbreak and healing.

Both Dearly Departed and Beacons are included in their latest release, the EP Lemon Salt, a cohesive collection that further expands their sonic identity and highlights their evolution as storytellers and musicians.

Over the past two years, The White Raven has also reconnected with fans on stage, bringing their dynamic live performances throughout 2024 and 2025.
